MG G50 Plus, MG3 HEV all set for PH debut next week
MG PH will unveil its new MPV and hatchback fighters this coming June 4

At the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, MG Philippines displayed a tour de force of vehicles at the SMX Convention Center, showcasing new and upcoming vehicles. From the MG Cyberster to the MG7 as well as the IM LS7 luxury EV, the automaker has plenty to offer for the Philippine market.
Also present during the annual auto show were the MG G50 Plus and the MG3 Hatchback. At the time, they only previewed them to the public but come next week, MG Philippines will hold their official launches. You read right, the automaker is expanding its lineup with an MPV and a sleek 5-door hatchback.

The MG G50 Plus first came to the Philippine market under the Maxus brand. For its return under the MG brand, the G50 Plus is now equipped with a new wet-type 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. From what we saw at MIAS, the new transmission can now be manipulated via a gear stalk instead of a traditional gear selector on the center console. Meanwhile, its engine remains unchanged and will still likely be the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo that makes 169 PS with 250 Nm of pull.

Next up is the MG3 which will serve as the brand's stylish and affordable hatchback. Besides having a sleek look, the hatchback will be available as a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) for its top-of-the-line variant. Don't prefer a hybrid? The MG3 will also be available with a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine that will be mated to a CVT. The HEV will exclusively be paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
Pricing has yet to be revealed for both vehicles. However, we won't be surprised if the G50 Plus and the MG3 Hatchback will be competitively priced against their closest rivals.

“We at MG Philippines are excited to continue introducing the most exciting options for our Filipino motorists and car enthusiasts, so we’re really looking forward to fully unveiling the new MG3 and G50 Plus very, very soon,” said Felix Jiang, MG Philippines president.
All of the specs, pricing, and other details of the MG3 and MG G50 Plus will be revealed next week, June 4, 2024.
