MIAS 2024: IM LS7 is MG's all-electric luxury crossover SUV
MG Philippines to join the luxury EV market with the IM LS7

Think MG and more than likely you’ll immediately think of sedans and crossovers like the MG5, MG GT, MG ZS, and MG One. They’ve also expanded their EV lineup with the likes of the MG ZS EV, MG4, and the more powerful MG4 XPower. Heck, they even previewed the Cyberster EV roadster, as well as a slew of upcoming cars that offer ICE and zero emissions performance.
However, they’ve also held the official preview of their luxury brand at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). This is the IM LS7, it’s a sign of things to come from MG Philippines. IM is the automaker’s luxury marque and they have decided to give Filipino buyers a preview of the all-electric LS7.
You read right, this luxury EV is powered by a high-tech zero-emissions powertrain. At the heart of the LS7 is a pair of electric motors that deliver AWD capability as well as a healthy 578 PS with a whopping 725 Nm of torque. This allows the LS7 to catapult itself from 0 - 100 km/h in a mere 4.5 seconds which is impressive given its huge size.

On a full charge, the LS7 can travel up to 530 km. But should users feel a bit of range anxiety, the system comes with the unique “Super-Eco” mode which prioritizes EV range - relieving any dreaded feeling of anxiety about how far the vehicle can go.
Besides having a zero-emissions powertrain, the LS7 is also equipped with a souped-up chassis. It gets an advanced suspension system from Continental, damping control from Bilstein, four-piston brake calipers from Brembo, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport EV high-performance tires that ensure grip and maximized range.
Since it’s a luxury vehicle, it’s only natural for IM to give the LS7 countless amenities. For starters, it comes with a trio of displays - elevated touchscreen displays that measure 26.3 inches & 15.5 inches, and an AMOLED central touchscreen that is 12.8 inches in size. This gives the luxury EV a total screen size of 42 inches which is one of the biggest in the market. There are also rear zero gravity seats that highlight the vehicle’s riding comfort. In addition, the front passenger seat can be folded down beneath the dashboard to maximize legroom should the passenger opt for it.

Other neat features worth mentioning in the LS7 include a 16-point massage & ventilation functions on the rear seats, a “Starfall” front windshield that delivers 106 degrees of vertical field of view, a 24-speaker sound system, and a first-ever pre-site deodorization & formaldehyde removal system. This allows the vehicle to clean the air inside and even preserve the air quality for more than 180 days of use.
To keep the occupants safe while on the road, it has top-notch AI safety fitted as standard. This gives the vehicle cutting-edge driver aids that consist of 12 ultrasonic sensors, 11 HD cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 2 high-precision positioning units. This gives the vehicle high-tech functions like forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, lane-tracing assist, lane-centering assist, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, an all-around view monitor, and many more features.

Size-wise, the LS7 measures 5056mm long, 2002mm wide, 1731mm tall, and has a generous 3060mm wheelbase.
“The LS7 will enter the Philippine market very soon and set a new benchmark in the segment and we’re excited that we can talk about the manifestation of our ambition to embrace the new track of intelligent electrification,” said Felix Jiang, MG Philippines president.
Pre-orders for the MG IM LS7 are now open and the automaker is accepting pre-order inquiries at MIAS 2024 until April 7. As for its sticker price, MG Philippines says its indicative pricing is PHP 4 million.
