LOOK: This is the Acura RSX Prototype EV
The Acura RSX is set to arrive at North American dealers in the second half of 2026

It was back in January of this year that Acura announced it would be bringing back the RSX. With the Acura Integra Type S serving as the twin of the FL5 Civic Type R, while wearing a dapper suit, we were initially curious what the new RSX would look like.
Unfortunately for enthusiasts who were wishing to see a more souped-up version of the all-new Honda Prelude, Acura instead revealed that the RSX would return as an all-electric crossover. They even released a teaser photo of the RSX EV wearing a camouflage livery.

Months after they released the teaser, Acura has released a new photo of the upcoming RSX. Officially called the RSX Prototype EV, Acura said it will make its global debut at this year's Monterey Car Week. The Prototype will serve as a preview of the new RSX EV, which is set to arrive at North American dealers in the second half of 2026.
Based on the lone teaser photo, the Acura RSX Prototype EV will feature the brand's signature design language. It gets a pair of what appear to be eye-catching LED headlights, a sporty front bumper, and what looks to be gloss black body cladding. It also has what appears to be an illuminated Acura badge, which gives the Prototype EV a more discerning look.
As mentioned before, the all-new Acura RSX will be the first model engineered on the new in-house developed EV platform and will mark the launch of the new proprietary ASIMO OS operating system first introduced at CES 2025 for Honda's 0 Series EVs. In addition, the RSX will be the first EV produced at the company's Honda EV Hub flexible manufacturing facility in Ohio, which is on the same production line as the Acura Integra.

With Acura turning the RSX into an electric crossover, we'll be curious to see what enthusiasts will think about it once it's fully revealed. After all, this is not the first time a Japanese automaker revived a revered nameplate and turned it into a crossover. Just a few years ago, Mitsubishi brought back the Eclipse name for a new crossover SUV and called it the Eclipse Cross.
