Lexus GX 550 Overtrail ready to conquer any terrain in style
JAOS gives the all-new Lexus GX its magic touch

Lexus surely made its presence felt at the recently-concluded Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. While it seems most of the showgoers turned their attention to the unique builds at the annual auto show, the luxury brand also turned heads with the GX 550 Overtrail.

Made possible in collaboration with popular Japanese tuner JAOS, the GX 550 Overtrail gets a more exterior courtesy of a new body kit, skid plates to protect its under-chassis, all-terrain tires with unique alloy wheels, and much more.

With an emphasis on delivering a premium off-road experience, JAOS fitted the GX 550 Overtrail with a new front bumper guard made from heavy-duty ABS resin, flared wheel arch extensions, aluminum skid plates, and steel side steps. The go-anywhere luxury SUV has also been fitted with JAOS Mud Guard III mud flaps while the chassis gets a new lift kit courtesy of BattleZ. It gets built-in adjustable dampers and titanium-infused springs that aim to deliver a better ride while going off-road.

Since this is a JAOS-tuned vehicle after all, the GX 550 Overtrail rolls on 18-inch Tribe Cross alloy wheels and is wrapped in Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires that measure 275/70. Last but not least, the tricked-out GX 550 gets a black anodized roof rack that measures 1250x1400mm.
No engine upgrades were mentioned by Lexus and JAOS. This means the modified GX likely comes with the stock 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that cranks out 349 PS with 650 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a 10-speed automatic transmission complete with a full-time 4WD system and an electronic transfer case.

With the all-new GX supposedly set to arrive in the Philippines soon, we're already wondering if eager customers already have plans to outfit their Lexus GX.
