For 2024, GAC Motor Philippines has already confirmed they are launching six new models in the country. Two of those were already previewed recently, but the four models are yet to be named.
Based on the newest models the Chinese market has, it looks like 2024 could be the year when GAC introduces new energy vehicles to its lineup. Those include full hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and EVs. However, it seems like GAC has something more special in store.

We were able to get a hold of the Department of Energy's list of recognized Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and surprise, surprise, we found GAC's halo model, the Aion Hyper GT, was there.
The GAC Aion Hyper GT is a futuristic-looking four-door electric sedan with scissor doors and the capability to achieve Level 2+ autonomous driving. Autoindustriya.com's Eric Tipan and Marcus De Guzman were able to see the Aion Hyper GT in person on their most recent visit to GAC's Guangzhou HQ.

Based on the DOE list, GAC could go all out and offer the Aion Hyper GT with its most powerful and most long-range variant. The GT 710 model generates 340 PS and 430 Nm of torque in its electric motor, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.9 seconds. Its 80 kWh battery, meanwhile, gives it a range of 710 km.

Since it has an 800-volt charging system, the Aion Hyper GT can top up its batteries and gain 450 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. Under the DOE list, the Hyper GT also has a Type 2 connector which should be easily compatible with most EV charging stations in the country.
For now, much of these are yet to be confirmed by GAC Motor Philippines, but watch this space for further updates.
