Teaser: All-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has major LC60 vibes
Toyota USA to host world debut of all-new 2024 Land Cruiser Prado next week

Toyota is indeed going full retro with the all-new Land Cruiser Prado.

Ahead of its world debut on August 1 (August 2 PH time), Toyota USA shared more teaser images of the new LC Prado, which has all the makings of being a modern-day version of the 60 series Land Cruiser from the 80s.
The similarities show with the way Toyota designed the front and rear end of the all-new LC Prado. Starting with the front fascia, the J250 Prado features rectangular LED headlights inspired by the late model versions of the J60 Land Cruiser that had rectangular quad halogen headlights.
Meanwhile, the silhouette of the all-new LC Prado appears to be quite similar to the J60 with its boxy station wagon body style. Of note, the LC60 was one of the first few Land Cruisers designed for both comfort and off-road capability when the SUV market was still emerging.

At the back, the center garnish and the rectangular taillights also appear to be modern versions of what the J60 Land Cruiser had.
Based on leaked information, the all-new LC Prado is set to have a trio of four-cylinder engines – first is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel shared with the current-gen Hilux and Fortuner, a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated inline-four gas engine called the 2TR-FE, and a 2.4-liter gasoline turbo that might be derived from the Tacoma.

There's no news yet if the latter will come with a hybrid system. But we'll eventually get to know the answer since there's only a week to go before Toyota USA takes the covers off the all-new LC Prado.
