SPIED: Next-gen BMW X5 spotted anew with production lights

A few months ago, our spies managed to spot a prototype version of the all-new BMW X5. Despite the heavy camouflage livery, it’s quite obvious the next-generation model will get the Neue Klasse look with its new grille and LED headlights, as well as the sleeker shape.

Then, earlier this week, BMW officially confirmed the all-new X5 is coming soon and will be available with various powertrain options. These include gasoline, diesel, electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel-cell technology that's being co-developed with Toyota. With five choices of propulsion, the X5 can cater to plenty of customers who either want traditional ICE or electrified means of power. The automaker even released official “spy” photos of the upcoming crossover SUV.

Now, our spy photographers managed to get new pictures of the next-generation BMW X5. But unlike previous sightings, the latest prototype spotted had less camouflage and now comes with production lights, and boy, do we like what we’re seeing.

Just like the all-new iX3, the BMW X5 will also be sporting the Neue Klasse look. The result is a sleeker and more prominent design that gives the crossover SUV a more Teutonic appearance. Despite the camo livery still hiding most of the vehicle, the new grille and LED daytime running lights give us a glimpse of what to expect soon.

Also worth mentioning are the more prominent fenders and beltline, which highlight the vehicle’s width and size. Last but not least, the all-new X5 will feature horizontal LED taillights with new graphics.

BMW has yet to reveal when it will actually launch the all-new X5. However, we won’t be surprised if the brand decides to reveal it later this year or perhaps in early 2026.

With BMW all hands on deck for its next generation of Neue Klasse vehicles, the X7, X5, and the all-new 3 Series will get one heck of a brand new look once they’re officially revealed.
