SPIED: Next-gen BMW 3 Series spotted with production lights

A few weeks ago, our spies managed to spot the all-new BMW M3 EV being tested at the Nurburgring. Despite the false panels and the camouflage livery, it’s hard not to notice the vehicle’s relatively huge size and wide body kit.

Since BMW is already busy with the M3 EV, the automaker is most likely testing the next-generation 3 Series as well. Lo and behold, our spies managed to capture photos of the latter, and we like what we’re seeing so far.

Like the all-new iX3, the next-generation BMW 3 Series gets the “Neue Klasse” design treatment. Thanks to the automaker using a thinner camouflage livery, we can now see more of the sedan’s more dynamic front end. Like the Neue Klasse concept, the all-new 3 Series gets a new set of LED headlights along with a new front grille. The signature dual kidney grille has yet to be seen, although we won’t be surprised if BMW removed it to throw off spy photographers.

We also couldn’t help but notice the stylish alloy wheels, which appear to be production versions that feature a star-like design. Like all previous 3 Series sedans, the all-new generation also gets a short deck rear, while the wheels are pushed as far to the edge to give it a longer wheelbase. Last but not least are the LED taillights, which are still heavily disguised, but it’s quite clear they also received the Neue Klasse look.

Just like the current 5 Series and 7 Series, the all-new 3 Series will be available in ICE and EV variants. That’s right, besides the M3 EV, there will possibly be eDrive and xDrive electric variants of the next-gen 3 Series. As far as range is concerned, it’s rumored the electric 3 Series is capable of covering up to 750 km on a single charge.

The official market launch of the Neue Klasse 3 Series is slated for late 2026 or in early 2027, which means we’re still quite far from its debut. But given the fact that BMW is already busy doing real-world testing, perhaps the automaker will hold a special preview with a near-production prototype. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the next BMW 3 Series will look as dashing as its predecessors.
