SPIED: Mercedes-AMG's 1,000 HP electric SUV seen at the Nurburgring
Mercedes-AMG is putting its upcoming high-performance EVs through the ringer

Earlier this week, our spies spotted Mercedes-AMG testing an all-electric sedan, which will most likely be the electric GT. With 1,000 PS on tap, the sleek yet camouflaged hyper EV could give the likes of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT something to think about in the not-so-distant future.
But even before Mercedes-AMG was spotted testing the all-electric hypercar, they've already started work on an electric SUV that also generates 1,000 PS. After first releasing a teaser image of it last year, just before the holidays, our spies managed to spot the electric SUV being tested at the Nurburgring recently.

Unlike the teaser photo from before, which only showed the front fascia, we were able to get a closer look at the yet-to-be-launched EV from Mercedes-AMG from all directions. The front fascia remains relatively the same, although we did notice there seems to be less camouflage around the headlights.
Elsewhere, however, we see that the electric crossover will have a wagon-like shape thanks to the sleek profile and sloping roofline. We're not entirely sure about it yet, but it looks like the electric SUV will have a sporty set of alloy wheels, too.

Our spies were also able to check out the tire specs of the prototype being tested by Mercedes-AMG. The front comes with 285/40/ZR22 tires while the rear is equipped with 325/35/ZR22 tires. With wide and massive tires, the electric SUV from Mercedes-AMG doles out some serious power.
The automaker is not yet ready to show what the rear end will look like since it's still heavily camouflaged and only comes with a simple set of LED taillights. However, we won't be surprised if it comes with one heck of a design once unveiled.

There's no exact timeline yet as to when Mercedes-AMG will officially reveal the electric SUV and its upcoming hypercar. But given they're already testing them both at the Nurburgring, perhaps we can expect to see the two EVs make their debut sometime next year.
