Next-gen Ford Ranger, Everest gets V6 diesel in Thailand; PH next?
Ford Everest and Ranger gets V6 diesel power in Thailand

It’s no secret that the next-generation Ford Ranger and Everest are two of the Blue Oval’s best-selling vehicles in the country, but we also know that things moving really quickly in the automotive industry. You can come up with a great product, but it’s a different thing keeping customer interest up.
But in the case of Ford, it looks like they have that covered. The V6 diesel-powered Ranger and Everest have made their way to Southeast Asia. For now, it’s exclusive to the Wildtrak variant for the Ranger and Platinum for the Everest in Thailand.

The 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbodiesel is called the Power Stroke. It puts out 250 PS at 3250 rpm, and 600 Nm of torque from 1750-2250 rpm. Much like the 2.0-liter biturbo that we have in the country, the V6-powered Ranger Wildtrak and Everest Platinum in Thailand have a 10-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels.

There are also some minor changes for the Ranger Wildtrak V6, as it features new 20-inch alloy wheels, a V6 emblem near the side vents, as well as an additional 18-liter tank for AdBlue or Diesel Exhaust Fluid to reduce emissions.

Meanwhile, the Everest Platinum V6 now serves as the top-spec model in the Everest lineup in Thailand. First spied at the Land of Smiles in 2022, it follows similar specs to the Australian market version of the Everest Platinum, notably featuring 21-inch alloys, different roof rails, V6 emblems on the fenders, and a 12-speaker sound system from Bang & Olufsen.
For now, there’s no word yet from Ford Philippines if the Ranger Wildtrak and Everest Platinum V6 will be offered in the country. However since Ford PH sources its units from Thailand, the possibility is there. We’ll keep our eyes peeled in the coming weeks and months regarding this matter.
