Spied: V6-powered 2023 Ford Everest seen in Thailand

When the all-new Ford Everest officially made its local debut earlier this year, it only came with the 2.0-liter EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine. Depending on the variant, the four-cylinder engine can either make 170 PS with 405 Nm via a single-turbo setup or 210 PS with 500 Nm of torque thanks to a bi-turbo setup.

Sadly, those that were hoping to get the Everest with a turbo-diesel V6 were disappointed as the six-cylinder version was not brought to the Philippine market. With that, customers that wish to get a brand new Everest will only have a choice between a 2.0-liter single turbo or the more powerful 2.0-liter bi-turbo version.

However, there may still be hope the V6-powered Everest could make its way here to the country. Spotted recently by our friends over at headlightmag.com in the Land of Smiles is what appears to be the V6-engined Everest.

While some might mistake it as a regular Titanium+ 4x4 model, the V6 model will actually be called the V6 3.0 Platinum to differentiate it from the rest. It gets a Platinum badge on the hood which is reminiscent of what Australia gets. It also comes with huge 21-inch twelve-spoke alloy wheels, different roof rails, V6 emblems on the front fenders, and another Platinum badge on the tailgate.

The full interior details are not yet available for the 3.0 Platinum Everest. But based on what Australia gets, it will supposedly be the only variant to come with a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Meanwhile, the leather seats will come with a special pattern that is available only on the V6-powered version of the SUV.

As for the V6 itself, the turbo-diesel six-cylinder will make 250 PS at 3250 rpm along with 600 Nm of torque at 1750 to 2250 rpm. Power will then be sent to a four-wheel drive system and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It will also come with 4WD aids like an Active Center Differential and a differential lock for the rear wheels.

According to headlightmag, the Ford Everest V6 3.0 Platinum may officially be launched in Thailand in late 2022 or in early 2023. With that, perhaps the V6-powered version could perhaps make its regional debut at this year's Thailand International Motor Expo.

With the V6 version apparently slated to be revealed soon in The Land of Smiles, does this mean it will also be arriving in other ASEAN markets? Since Ford Philippines sources the Everest from Thailand, we cannot help but think it's also slated for the local market. For now, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any new info regarding the possibility of the Platinum version making its way to the country.
