Mitsubishi Motors preparing 2024 Triton for PH launch soon?
Mitsubishi PH receives government approval for new 2.4-liter turbo-diesel

We already know that the all-new Mitsubishi Triton (formerly known as the Strada) is on its way here. After making its grand debut in Thailand, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) shared that the next-generation pickup truck is set to arrive in the country come January 2024.
With only several months left before the year ends, Mitsubishi wants to greet the New Year with a bang by launching the all-new Triton pickup. But how can we be sure that Mitsubishi plans on releasing the said pickup truck come January next year?

Fortunately for us, we were able to get some information that MMPC has already received approval for a certain vehicle powered by a turbo-diesel engine. Despite not having its exact name, the turbo-diesel engine that recently received approval has a displacement of 2.4 liters After cross-checking with what Thailand gets, it led us to the 2.4-liter 4N16 turbo-diesel engine that's already seeing use in the new Triton.
The 4N16 may have the same displacement as the outgoing 4N15 turbo-diesel, but the new engine is available with a pair of turbochargers. The 4N16 cranks out 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque in its most powerful form. There's also a single turbo version which puts out 184 PS with 430 Nm of torque. Last but not least is the fleet version which puts out a decent 150 PS with 330 Nm of torque.

Other details and specifications about the soon-to-arrive 2024 Mitsubishi Triton are unavailable. However, we can expect the pickup to get similar features and amenities as the one in Thailand. That means it might get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, an around-view monitor, dual-zone climate control, a new three-spoke steering wheel, T-shaped LED headlights, a new Dynamic Shield grille, and the Super-Select 4WD-II system.
Given that the time between approval to market launch is about 4-6 months, then we can peg a launch date of sometime around January to March 2024. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info about the upcoming 2024 Mitsubishi Triton.
