MIAS 2024: MG4 XPower, MG ZS EV make electrifying debut in PH
SAIC Motor Philippines Inc. expands MG EV lineup in PH

The MG Cyberster wasn't the only electric vehicle (EV) the automaker revealed during the first day of the 2024 Manila International Motor Show (MIAS). Heck, MG has a 12-car display at this year's MIAS. But besides the droptop EV, the brand also revealed two new EVs.

Say hello to the 2024 MG4 XPower and the MG ZS EV, and they represent the brand's ability to offer high-performance zero emissions vehicles as well as practical ones. Starting with the XPower, MG Philippines gave us a small preview of the souped-up MG4 last year just before the holidays.
While it may simply look like a sportier version of a regular MG4, the XPower actually packs one heck of a powertrain. Thanks to a pair of electric motors, it delivers AWD capability plus a whopping 435 PS and a gut-pulling 600 Nm of torque. Even more impressive is the fact that it can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in a blistering 3.8 seconds. With a 64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the MG4 XPower can cover up to 385 km on a full charge.

It also comes with a Dynamic Cornering Control System with an electronic locking differential and torque vectoring that helps in maximizing grip & traction. Speaking of maximizing grip, MG also tweaked the suspension with retuned spring & damper settings, stiffer anti-roll bars, as well as sharper steering. To easily shave off speed, the MG4 XPower gets huge 345mm disc brakes on all four corners.

When it comes to amenities, the MG4 XPower gets a power-adjustable driver's seat, Alcantara upholstery, automatic climate control, a 10-inch touchscreen media system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 6-speaker sound system, power-folding heated side mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad.

Up next is the MG ZS EV which is essentially the ZS' electric twin. To make it distinct from its non-EV sibling, the ZS EV has a closed-off grille, a unique pair of LED headlights & taillights, as well as aerodynamically designed 17-inch alloy wheels.
At the heart of the MG ZS EV is a 51 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers an electric motor. It delivers 176 PS with 280 Nm of torque and can cover up to 320 km based on the WLTP cycle. Like most EVs in the market today, the MG ZS EV (and MG4 XPower) support Type 2 charging.

Features-wise, the ZS EV comes with automatic climate control, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 6-speaker sound system, USB charging ports, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, adaptive cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof.
