Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM recognized as PHEV by the DOE
Jetour Auto PH is inching closer to revealing the T1 Lightning

Remember when Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. (JAPI) received regulatory approval for a passenger vehicle powered by a 1499cc engine? Since the automaker already launched two out of three plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) this year, that means the T1 Lightning i-DM will likely be the third and final electrified model Jetour will be launching later this year.
Now, the Department of Energy (DOE) has officially recognized Jetour's latest PHEV, and it's the T1 Lightning i-DM. Based on the DOE's updated list of recognized PHEVs in the country, the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM PHEV will measure 4705mm long, 1967mm wide, and 1843mm tall. It's also listed to have a maximum engine power of 105 kW or 142 PS and an electric output of 150 kW or 204 PS.

According to the initial specification we've gathered, the T1 Lightning i-DM will have a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 142 PS with 290 Nm of torque and an electric motor that generates 204 PS with 310 Nm of pull. A 26.7 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery provides an electric range of up to 117 km based on the WLTC cycle and a combined system range of over 1,000 km.
Given the vehicle's size, power output, and range, the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM could take on the likes of the BYD Sealion 6. The T1 also benefits from a vehicle-to-load function (V2L) to power up campsites and serve as a large power bank for home appliances during a blackout.
With Jetour planning to launch the T1 Lightning around the “ber” months, perhaps we can expect the upcoming plug-in hybrid to be revealed in Q3 or Q4 of this year. With the automaker already offering the PHEV versions of the Dashing, X70, and T2, we won't be surprised if Jetour plans to have an all-electrified lineup in the future.
