Is BMW PH launching the 544 HP i4 M50 EV soon?
It looks like BMW PH will be revealing yet another EV on March 6, 2024

BMW distributor SMC Asia Cars Distributor Inc wasted no time when they launched new vehicles earlier this year. They opened the New Year by revealing the all-electric i4 eDrive35 coupe which puts out 286 PS with 400 Nm of torque. On a fully-charged battery, BMW says it can cover up to 483 km and can easily achieve 0 – 100 km/h in 6 seconds flat.
They then followed it up with the all-new G60 5 Series. Now on its 8th generation, the executive sedan is available for the first time in both ICE and EV versions. First is the 520i which makes 208 PS with 330 Nm of torque from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The other one is the all-electric i5 eDrive40 which generates 340 PS with 400 Nm of torque.

All well and good, but if you think BMW is done launching vehicles at the moment, the automaker has just sent us an invitation for another launch set for next week. Based on the invitation, they will be revealing something special on March 6, Wednesday. BMW has yet to officially say what they will debut, but based on the teaser video they sent, it looks like it will be a more powerful variant of the i4.
If the teaser video is anything to go by, the automaker appears to have teased the top-of-the-line i4 M50. Yes, this particular BMW has been given the M treatment and packs one heck of a powerplant. Based on what other markets get, the i4 M50 gets its power from a pair of electric motors (one on each axle) which gives it a total system output of 544 PS along with a meaty 795 Nm of torque. This gives the AWD electric sports coupe a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds and a 225 km/h top speed.

Supplying power to the dual motors is an 83.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which gives the i4 M50 a range of up to 510 km based on the WLTP cycle. In addition, the i4 M50 comes with M goodies like an adaptive suspension, M Sport brakes, and of course, the obligatory M badges.
No other details have been shared yet by SMC Asia Cars Distributors Corp. However, we will be sure to keep an eye on this and see if we can eke out more information about next week's launch.
