Hyundai Santa Fe XRT Concept is a lean, mean 4x4 machine

Last week, Hyundai officially revealed the specs and features of the 2024 Santa Fe. It has a boxier look and a more upscale interior. The next-generation midsize crossover is also more luxurious, high-tech, and more rugged than its predecessor. In addition, it's only available with turbocharged and electrified gasoline engines, marking an end to the turbo-diesel variants of the Santa Fe.

With its Defender-like exterior and more spacious cabin geared for the great outdoors, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe looks ready to hit the trails and off the beaten path. But if you want a more rugged version of the midsize crossover, look no further than this badass-looking Santa Fe XRT Concept.

Before you pick up your pitchforks and torches, no the Santa Fe XRT Concept is in no way related to the Mitsubishi XRT Concept. This product conjured up by Hyundai is the brand's take on a vehicle tailored for outdoor enthusiasts. Designed to take on challenging terrains with ease while also equipped with outdoor equipment, the XRT Concept comes with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, a raised ride height, a roof rack, cargo boxes on the side, and a rear ladder.

Clearly, Hyundai's inspiration comes from Land Rover. But don't expect to see a production version of the concept hit the road (or trails) any time soon. That's because the automaker said there are currently no plans for the XRT Concept to become a reality. What we can expect, however, is a different iteration inspired by the concept vehicle that Hyundai can offer to its customers.

That means instead of a full outdoor package, customers could choose what extra options they want to be fitted on their Santa Fe based on what the XRT Concept originally came with.
