Going Hybrid: Kia PH to launch 2025 Sorento HEV next month
Refreshed 2025 Kia Sorento to get hybrid power but will diesel still be offered?

Kia Philippines distributor ACMobility is set to offer more electrified vehicles this 2025. After quietly launching the Carnival HEV last year, the Korean automaker has officially announced it will be debuting the Sorento HEV in February.
The launch will not only feature the electrified crossover SUV but it will also be the facelift of the fourth generation Kia Sorento. While we initially thought it would be the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Sorento, the vehicle Kia will launch is the hybrid electric (HEV) variant.

No official specifications for the Sorento HEV have been revealed just yet. However, based on what international markets get, we can expect the hybrid Sorento to come with a 1.6L turbocharged inline-four that’s helped by an electric motor. It makes a total system output of 230 PS with 350 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Design-wise, the 2025 Sorento now comes with a more striking exterior courtesy of the new T-shaped headlights with cube-shaped LED units. It also comes with sleek LED lighting signatures and LED foglights hidden behind the lower air intake of the front bumper. We can also expect the Sorento HEV to come with new alloy wheels and redesigned LED taillights that are more eye-catching than before.
Hop inside and we can expect the updated Sorento to get a slight makeover. It gets a bigger set of high-definition displays including a more intuitive touchscreen infotainment system. There’s also a new rotary-style gear selector and what appear to be capacitive buttons for the climate control system.

With the launch of the 2025 Sorento all set for February, don’t be surprised to see more details and info about the upcoming crossover SUV. The only question now is, will the 2025 Sorento still be available with a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine alongside the turbo-hybrid model?
