Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt to resume filming this year
Formula One film starring Brad Pitt to also feature scenes from the Daytona 24 Hours

The much-awaited Formula One feature film starring Brad Pitt just got a lot more interesting.
After filming was sidelined for much of last year due to the Hollywood strike in America, production of the yet-to-be-officially named movie is set to be back in full swing. In fact, it will even feature scenes from the 2024 Daytona 24-Hour race as part of the film’s plot.
According to reports, the filming at Daytona will involve a Porsche 911 GT3 R run by a fictional team with a fictional livery, with Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes serving as one of the drivers.

As we’ve known before, the Hayes character is a former driver who has been called to return to F1 and mentor a hotshot rookie played by co-star Damson Idris. While we’re just guessing at the moment, the scenes that will be filmed at Daytona could form part of the opening sequences of the film before Pitt’s character goes back to F1.
The upcoming F1 movie of Apple Original Films shows a lot of promise based on the star power of its actors, as well as those involved in making the film. Ehren Kruger, Joseph Kosinski, and Jerry Bruckheimer of Top Gun: Maverick, respectively serve as the film's writer, director, and producer, while Lewis Hamilton also gets his role as a consultant as part of his production company, Dawn Apollo Films.

Jerry Bruckheimer himself will also play a key role in this year’s running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, as he will serve as the Grand Marshal that will utter the famous motorsport phrase “Gentlemen, start your engines”.
As of now, a concrete release date for the film is yet to be announced. And with more filming to be done to catch up for lost time this year, we can likely expect this film in theaters around 2025 before heading to Apple TV. Fingers crossed it turns out great.
