Ford Territory with plug-in hybrid confirmed for PH
LTO releases homologation documents for PH-spec Ford Territory PHEV

Electrification is the theme of 2025 for Ford Philippines. Recently, the Blue Oval has confirmed that the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E is coming to the country later this year. But before that happens, it looks like Ford also has something that will bridge the gap between gas and electric.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has updated its list of released homologation documents. And surprise, surprise, there’s a Ford Territory with a Hybrid in its name.

Earlier in the year, the plug-in hybrid Ford Territory, also known as the Equator Sport PHEV, made its debut in China. Over there, the 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder is supplemented by an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 218 PS, which aligns with the figures reflected in the LTO homologation papers of the PH market unit.
The electric motor will be powered by a lithium-ion battery. And if the local unit follows the Chinese-market specifications, the Territory PHEV could also travel up to 95 km in battery power alone based on the WLTC.

New energy vehicles such as hybrids, PHEVs, and EVs have flooded the market, and those coming from the PRC specifically have really attractive price tags in their respective segments. When Ford PH launches the Territory PHEV, the crossover could compete against the likes of the BYD Sealion 6 and the Changan Nevo Q05, which also have plug-in hybrid technology.
For now, there’s no sign of the non-hybrid version of the facelifted Territory just yet, pointing out a possibility that Ford could stop offering the 1.5-turbo versions once the PHEV makes its debut in the local market.
