Final Lap: Here's your last chance to get a Honda Civic Type R in PH
The FL5 Honda Civic Type is set to ride off in the Philippine sunset

Like many things in life, all good things must come to an end, and unfortunately, Honda's halo car is set for its last dance.
Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has just announced that the FL5 Civic Type R will soon conclude its official run in the country. This presents a unique opportunity for those who have always dreamed of owning a turbocharged hot hatch that one can daily.

Despite the halo car going away soon, HCPI is proud to celebrate the legacy of the Civic Type R in the Philippines. The hot hatch first arrived in the country at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) via the fifth-generation FK8. An initial 100 units were made available for the Philippine market, all of which were spoken for within 48 hours upon the announcement of availability.
Then in 2021, the Civic Type R received a refresh and added Honda Sensing to its suite of safety features, as well as better brakes. Then, in January 2023, the sixth-generation FL5 Civic Type R was launched in the country and further fostered a dedicated community that appreciates the hot hatch's rich heritage and uncompromising spirit since the debut of the EK9 generation.

“We are extremely grateful for how well our customers have received the Civic Type R and shown their appreciation for this model over the past eight (8) years. We are confident that this model's legacy will inspire us as our model range continues to evolve, especially our current and upcoming models that will always give our customers the familiar, fun-to-drive spirit of Honda”, said Rie Miyake, HCPI president.

Customers who want to get their hands on one are encouraged to visit the nearest Honda Cars dealership to grab the last few remaining units of the 2025 Civic Type R as it takes its last lap.
