BYD has built its 9 millionth electrified vehicle
After building its 8 millionth NEV last July, BYD was able to make its 9 millionth NEV in just two months

Last year, BYD announced that it had built its 5 millionth New Energy Vehicle (NEV) – becoming the first automaker in the world to achieve such a feat. The 5 millionth NEV that rolled was a BYD Denza N7, a fully electric vehicle with self-driving capabilities.
Then in July 2024, BYD achieved yet another production milestone after the company rolled off its 8 millionth NEV (a BYD Dolphin) at its new factory in Rayong, Thailand. With an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles, the brand's new plant in Thailand will further help BYD make more NEVs for global markets.

Two months later, BYD is proud to announce that they have produced their 9 millionth NEV in the form of an all-electric hypercar, a red Yangwang U9. Recently rolling off the production line, the U9 is the company's fastest vehicle yet with 1,290 PS on tap thanks to its four electric motors. From a standstill, BYD claims the U9 can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds and reach a top speed of over 300 km/h.
With BYD continuing to produce NEVs at a rapid rate, perhaps it might not be long before BYD will be able to make their 10 millionth NEV. In fact, from January to August 2024, BYD was able to shift 2,328,449 NEVs which translates to a 29.92% year-over-year increase.

With BYD Philippines set to launch the Seagull EV tomorrow, it will become the automaker's most affordable EV yet, attracting more customers looking to get an EV. Should the Seagull become more popular, we won't be surprised if BYD will make more to keep up with demand.
