All-new Toyota Camry launching in Thailand; PH next?
9th generation Toyota Camry launching in Thailand on October 10

After making its world debut in North America last year, the all-new Toyota Camry has made its way to Southeast Asia with its reveal in Singapore last month. And now, the next Southeast Asian country to get dibs with the 9th-generation model has been revealed.

Toyota Motor Thailand is launching the all-new Camry on October 10. The brand has showcased a teaser on its social media page, promising its next-generation hybrid system.

The 9th generation Camry called the XV80, remains underpinned by the same TNGA-K platform as the current XV70 model. However, Toyota has revised the dampers and suspension tuning for better comfort. As the teaser shows, the XV80 Camry for the Thai market gets the “hammerhead” grille that was first seen in the Prius.

Inside, the XV80 Camry has dual 12.3-inch displays for instrument and infotainment, along with a JBL sound system among its list of standard features.
In Singapore, the XV80 was launched with a 231 PS hybrid powertrain that consists of the A25A-FXS engine and the 1VM electric motor. The Thai market version is likely to get the same when it launches.

With the Thai market getting the Camry soon, we’re starting to think that the Philippines could be next to get dibs on the model. Toyota usually goes big at PIMS and throws in some surprises along the way, so we’re staying on our toes until PIMS 2024 opens on October 24 at the World Trade Center.
