All-new BMW 5 Series Touring coming to PH this year
BMW 5 Series Touring bound for the Philippines

When BMW distributor SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. launched the all-new 5 Series earlier this year, they brought not one but two variants.
Those who still prefer internal combustion can get the 520i which gets a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo engine that makes 208 PS with 330 Nm of torque. The other variant available is the all-electric i5 eDrive40 which has a single rear electric motor pushing 340 PS with 430 Nm of torque and can travel up to 582 km on a full charge.

All seems well and good although we do wish the automaker brings the wagon version of the all-new G60 5 Series. If the 3 Series is available in the Touring body style, perhaps BMW Philippines can also bring the 5 Series Touring.
Well, those who have been waiting to get a wagon version of the all-new 5 Series need not wonder anymore as the company said they will be launching the 5 Series Touring this year. In fact, they will be revealing it at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) in October.

What's even better is that BMW will have the i5 M60 Touring at the upcoming motor show. While official specs and details have yet to be revealed, we already have a good idea of what to expect. Based on what other markets get, the i5 M60 Touring comes with a pair of electric motors that deliver a combined 601 PS and 820 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 230 km/h.
With a fully charged 81.2 kWh battery pack, BMW claims the i5 M60 Touring can cover up to 506 km. When it comes to recharging the wagon, the i5 M60 Touring supports 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging, as well as 205 kW DC fast charging.

Style-wise, the i5 M60 Touring trades soft curves for sharp lines and defined angles. It gets more athletic shoulder lines along with a flatter rear window. The result is a sportier and more elegant exterior while retaining the signature 5 Series look. The wagon also features distinct LED headlights, the signature dual kidney grille, and a long hood that complements the long roof design of the 5 Series Touring.
With October still quite far away, we'll be waiting with eager anticipation for the launch of the BMW's latest wagon. Hopefully, BMW Philippines will decide to bring more wagon variants of the all-new 5 Series in the future since the 3 Series Touring is available in 318i, M340i, and M3 guises.
