2026 Ford Explorer Tremor is ready for off-road with Raptor V6 power

Last year, Ford introduced much needed updates to the sixth-generation Explorer. And for those who have been waiting, it sure does look like Ford Philippines is already gearing up to launch it in the market as the refreshed version already has its LTO homologation papers.

But while that is the case here in the country, Ford is adding another exciting variant to the refreshed Explorer in North America. Making its debut is the Explorer Tremor – which is basically an off-road oriented variant fitted with enhanced hardware to make it more capable in the beaten path.

The Explorer Tremor has an off-road tuned suspension which gives an extra inch of ground clearance to the SUV. Along with it are 18-inch wheels with Bridgestone all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, grille-mounted driving lights, plus orange tow hooks and matte exterior accents to complete the go-anywhere look.

Inside, the orange trimming makes its way to the interior with special Tremor embroidery on the seats. Like the rest of the Explorer lineup, optional features include massaging front seats, and a 14-speaker B&O sound system for good measure.

In its standard trim, the Explorer Tremor comes with the familiar 2.3-liter Ecoboost inline-four engine with 304 PS and 420 Nm of torque, but there’s an option to take the more powerful 3.0-liter Ecoboost V6 shared with the Ranger Raptor. For this application though, the Explorer Tremor V6 puts out 406 PS and 563 Nm of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

All-wheel-drive is standard for the Explorer Tremor for obvious reasons, as well as a Torsen limited slip differential for better capability off-road.

Ford is yet to introduce a Tremor variant in the Philippine market for any of its current model offerings, which could leave us admiring the off-road oriented Explorer variant from afar. But of course, nothing is set in stone just yet. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one.
