Next-generation Toyota Tamaraw first revealed with 2.4L turbo-diesel engine

After rolling out the first units of its latest workhorse, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the all-new Tamaraw. Revealed simultaneously across 8 locations in the country, the latest generation Tamaraw is available in several variants, including gas and diesel.

TMP will initially offer the all-new Tamaraw in long-wheelbase form, powered by a turbo-diesel engine via the 2.4L 2GD-FTV. The six-speed automatic variant makes 150 PS with 400 Nm of torque, while the five-speed model also makes 150 PS but only has 343 Nm of torque.

Four body styles are available for the long wheelbase Tamaraw: Dropside, GL Dropside, Aluminum Cargo, and Utility Van (AKA Tamaraw FX). The Dropside has a payload capacity of 1,110 kg, while the GL Dropside is rated at 1,025 kg. Meanwhile, the Aluminum Cargo has a payload capacity of 1,000 kg, while the Utility Van can haul 910 kg of cargo.

When it comes to safety, high grade models are fitted with dual SRS airbags and anti-lock brakes. For extra peace of mind, crumple zones come as standard to provide additional protection in the event of a crash.
