2024 Mitsubishi Montero Sport facelift now in the country
Mitsubishi gearing up to introduce 2024 Montero Sport facelift in the country

Yesterday, we reported that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is already building up the inventory of the upcoming all-new Xforce crossover, but it looks like they are also busy filling their stockyards with their refreshed PPV contender, the Montero Sport.
One of our eagle-eyed readers has spotted a car carrier somewhere down south that’s filled with units of the facelifted Montero Sport, which could be the final update for the third-generation model before it’s replaced by the fourth-generation that’s based on the all-new Triton.

The facelifted Montero Sport features a redesigned grille with wide honeycomb inserts, similar to the likes of the Xpander and the aforementioned Xforce. Likewise, the LED headlights and daytime running lamps have been slightly revised for good measure.
Based on the Thai-market refresh, the Montero Sport also gets an updated infotainment touchscreen along with a new digital instrument cluster and steering wheel.

The Philippine-spec units that were spotted also appear to be of different variants. The one at the bottom is likely to be the GLS, while the one at the top with the black-painted wheels suggests it could be the new Black Edition variant.
But regardless of the trim level, the facelifted Montero Sport for PH looks set to retain the 4N15 2.4-liter MIVEC turbodiesel, as well as the 8-speed automatic transmission based on homologation papers from the LTO. In other SE Asia markets, the facelifted Montero Sport got the new single turbo 4N16 and 6-speed A/T shared with the lower variants of the all-new Triton.
For now, MMPC has yet to announce a launch date for the facelifted Montero Sport. But considering they already have the units for their revised lineup, the second half of 2024 could be a very busy period for Mitsubishi in the Philippine market.
