You need a racing license to drive this Php 4.5M Civic Type R race car
Honda unleashes the Civic Type R TC as a turn-key pro-spec race car

Ever feel that the FK8 Honda Civic Type R has its limits on track? Are you skilled enough to exploit all that is to rave about Honda’s crowning hatchback and say ‘I need something faster.’ The folks at Honda Performance Development (HPD) may have just the thing for you.

Meet the Honda Civic Type R TC. Built as a turn-key professional-spec racecar for privateer teams and clients, the Type R TC takes all that is good about the hot hatch and focuses it completely towards motorsport to create a true touring car.
The Type R TC will supposedly be eligible for SRO TC Americas as well as other amateur touring car races in North America (SCCA or NASA-sanctioned events). Acting as somewhat of a ‘bridge’ for those who want to level up their motorsports career, the Type R TC is still based on a production FK8 chassis with heavy modifications for safety, improved cornering, and outright performance.

Major modifications to the production Type R include a high-flow front grille, a J's Racing FRP vented hood, CSF radiator and oil cooler, an HPD/Borla downpipe and turbo back exhaust, a 6-speed manual transmission with strengthened 3rd and 4th gears, an HPD/Cusco limited slip differential, HPD Girodisc 2-piece front brake rotors and HPD brake inlet ducts, an HPD/Pyrotect bolt-in FIA 16-gallon fuel cell, a welded multi-point racing cage, and an OMP racing seat with 6-point harness.
That is effectively all that you’ll ever need to go racing on a professional level – all packaged neatly to create a racecar minus all the headaches of building one. Ultimately then, the Type R TC slots right in between the factory Type R and the fully re-engineered Civic Type R TCR in the heirarchy of HPD’s turn-key performance offerings.

"The successes of Honda Performance Development's TCA Civic Si and TCR Type R in North American touring car championship series have generated a strong interest in more ready-to-race Honda Touring Cars for North America. With the introduction of the new Type R TC-class race car, we now offer a complete lineup of turn-key, Civic-based race cars for registered racing customers in North America," said Ted Klaus, President of Honda Performance Development.

Honda will be asking clients a hefty $89,900 USD (about Php 4.5 million) for the race-prepped Type R. Price aside however, clients will need to be holders of a North American racing license to be eligible for purchase. All that sans shipping and taxes, we can only imagine just how much this stripped out Type R will cost landed here.
