Williams FW41 packs new aero for upcoming F1 season
Williams introduces 2018 Formula 1 challenger FW41, sports heavily revised aero

Last week, HAAS became the first team to reveal their Formula 1 challenger for the 2018 season. Now, Williams has followed by introducing their 2018 car at an event in London. Called the FW41, it looks significantly differently compared to its predecessor due to the team focusing more on aerodynamics.
“I am thrilled to be back and launching our new car, for a new season, with a new, exciting driver line-up. For many months, the team have put a tremendous amount of effort into the FW41 and I’m eager to see both Lance and Sergey take to the track later this month,” said Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principal.
Despite having a new design, the FW41 still sports the same Martini livery coupled by a white and black paint scheme of last year. Like the HAAS F1 car and all other cars that will debut this year, the FW41 is also equipped with a halo to further protect the driver in case of a crash as per the new regulations.
Driving for the Williams team will be Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin, who replaces Felipe Masssa. Meanwhile, Robert Kubica will fulfill the role of reserve and development driver.
With the new aerodynamics in place thanks to Chief Technical Officer, Paddy Lowe, and Head of Aerodynamics, Dirk de Beer, the team hopes the improvements made to the car will bring better results for this race season. Last year, the team finished fifth for the second year in a row, scoring 83 points and sits right behind Force India.
