WATCH: Red Bull Racing just did a pit stop in zero gravity

In the world of Formula 1 racing, precision and speed always matter. Whether it's the driver piloting the car, or the pit crew that is tasked of quickly changing out the tires or making body repairs, being both quick and fast are of the essence.

Having a good pit crew can make the difference of actually winning a race, or losing it by just mere seconds. That's why Formula 1 pit crews like Red Bull Racing constantly practice their technique, coordination, and speed even during off-season.

Having said that, it looks like the guys over at Red Bull Racing have just come up with a radical new way of keeping the pit crew in tip-top shape...zero gravity. We're not kidding, apparently someone at RBR thought this would be a good idea to promote not only their pit crew's speed, but to also prove that the sky (and even beyond) is indeed the limit.

The challenge: replace all four tires on a 2005 RB1 F1 car in 20 seconds. While that may sound slow, in a zero gravity environment, that may prove challenging. With it, Red Bull Racing sought the help of Russian space agency 'Roscosmos' in order to do the challenge on a special airplane.

Without gravity, simple tasks like carrying the tires, or setting up the tools could become complicated in zero G. What's more is that they can't use the car's automatic jack system to raise it. Plus, those not accustomed in a zero gravity environment may find themselves turning green due to their body's sensory perception becoming confused and discombobulated.
