Watch: 862 HP Subaru WRX STI jumps over speedboat
Gymkhana 2020 features Travis Pastrana and a WRX STI in possibly the most insane stunt video yet

When it comes to crazy drifts and jump stunts, there's no other person better at it than Ken Block. Just watch his Gymkhana series videos on YouTube. His videos have racked up millions of views over the past 10 years featuring extreme driving and stunts filmed at various cities across the US.
For the 2020 installment, they are making are a few changes to the annual Gymkhana series. The first is the driver; Travis Pastrana will be taking over driving (and flying) duties from Ken Block. The second is the car; Pastrana will be driving an 862 HP WRX STI instead of a Ford. Yes, this is the “wildest WRX STI” Subaru revealed last October. This time around, it's dressed up with all the sponsorship liveries. More importantly, it also marks the return of Subaru to the series.

Despite the big changes, Gymkhana 2020 has everything you'd expect in it, and even more. The starting scene alone is already wild as Pastrana does a high-flying jump over a speedboat cutting down a river. It's not the only high flier scene in the video, but we won't surprise the other one for you. At one point, he even dips one of the wheels over the edge of the dock, dangling dangerously above the water. Other action-packed scenes include a tandem drift with the all-new Subaru BR-Z and some head-to-head action with a Red Bull air racer.

For reference, the WRX STI used in the Gymkhana 2020 video packs a 2.3-liter turbocharged flat-four producing 862 HP and 900 Nm torque. Thanks to its lightweight carbon fiber body, the car accelerates like a rocketship. Together with active aero and upgraded tires, it can easily handle all the stunts in the video. With Travis Pastrana behind the wheel, it fully shows why Subaru called it “wildest WRX STI” yet.
