Volvo rumored to be developing road-legal V8 supercar
V8 Supercars success fuels the rumor and Volvo doesn'€™t deny it.

After a podium finish in their first-ever V8 Supercars race, the 650HP Volvo S60 clearly showed it had what it takes to ride with the ‘big boys’.
Now people are contemplating and Volvo is hinting at maybe a road-going version of the S60 V8.
Apparently, Volvo has been brewing something under our very noses. The Swedish auto company has been busy rolling out their Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), which is a platform-sharing process of developing future models for Volvo.
This may be the program that will usher in Volvo’s super sedan although it may end up not taking its roots from the S60 after SPA is in full swing.
"Yes. Wait and see. There are a lot of ideas," said Peter Mertens, Volvo's head of research and development on the possibility of a Volvo super sedan.
Volvo’s S60 Polestar is already in the Australian market and will be available internationally by 2015. This road-legal super sedan has 257kW and 500Nm.
