Two Hyundai i30 N racers ready to tackle 2019 WTCR season
BRC Racing Team hopes to defend WTCR title in 2019, readies two Hyundai i30 N TCR racers

With the 2019 World Touring Car Championship (WTCR) season just around the corner, teams have already started to debut their cars and driver line up for the season. Hyundai Motorsport customer BRC Racing Team is one of the latest teams to reveal their challengers for the upcoming WTCR season.
For 2019, BRC Racing Team will be fielding two Hyundai i30 N TCR cars and a quartet of drivers, including reigning 2018 champion Gabriele Tarquini, Norbert Michelisz, Augusto Farfus, and Nicky Catsburg. As the reigning champ, Tarquini will have the privilege of running #1 for this season. Meanwhile, Michelisz will continue to race with the #5 once more. For their debut WTCR season, Augusto Farfus has chosen #8 and Nicky Catsburg #88.
“The Hyundai i30 N TCR represents one of the strongest chassis available for the TCR regulations. The car is reliable and strong in all the main technical areas – braking, cornering, speed, aero, and engine. We are convinced we have the ideal package to approach the season, and the best driver line-up we could have dreamed of,” says Gabriele Rizzo, Team Principal of BRC Racing Tea
All four drivers were present during the event showing off their Hyundai i30 N TCR cars finished in their official liveries. The cars are set to make their track debut later this month at the pre-season WTCR testing in Barcelona. The BRC Racing Team drivers will be competing in all ten rounds of the 2019 season, which will begin in Morocco on April 4 to 6.
“The i30 N TCR was incredibly successful in the series last year, which has set the benchmark for the season ahead. Both teams and all four drivers are worthy championship contenders, and we wish them all the best for the challenge ahead. We are under no illusions as to the challenge our customers will face but we are ready to support them every step of the way,” says Hyundai Motorsport Team Director Andrea Adamo.
In 2018, the Hyundai i30 N TCR car had a strong debut in WTCR having 13 victories and over 30 podium finishes. This year, the BRC Racing Team hopes to defend their title once more.
