Toyota PH postpones Vios Cup Round 2 to October
The second round of 2021 Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup moved from Sept. to October

We have some bad news for fans of the Vios Cup.
The second round of the 2021 Vios Cup season will not push through this September as initially scheduled. Instead, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced that the second leg of the one-make series will tentatively be rescheduled for the second week of October. The reason for the move is something we're all too familiar with, and it's also why most of us are still stuck at home for now.
“As committed when we opened the 2021 race season, the safety and well-being of our participants and partners will be our top priority. In view of the current surge in COVID-19 cases and the enforcement of new quarantine guidelines, we decided it is best for everyone to move the 2nd leg originally scheduled on September 11 to a later date – October 16,” said TMP president Atsuhiro Okamoto.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, TMP managed to restart motorsport activities last July by holding the 2021 Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup. But unlike the previous races, only racers, participants, and event organizers were allowed on the race track. It was a strictly no spectator event for everyone's safety. Those who want to watch the race live would have to do so through the online live stream on TMP's official Facebook and Youtube channels - Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing PH.
“We look forward to seeing you on the next race weekend in October. For now, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe and strictly follow safety and precautionary measures,” added Okamoto.
With the number of active cases, TMP made the right choice to postpone the 2021 Vios Cup. We don't mind waiting for things to normalize before racing resumes at Clark International Speedway.
