Toyota GR Yaris "Love the Philippines" wins Portugal Rally
Jan Solans and Rodrigo San Juan claims maiden WRC2 victory in Rally Portugal

Wearing the Philippine flag and colors seem to be bringing both speed and good luck in international motorsports recently.
After Bianca Bustamante’s podium finish in the Miami Grand Prix last week, a rally car wearing the Department of Tourism’s “Love the Philippines” campaign has emerged victorious in Portugal.

Spanish driver Jan Solans and co-driver Rodrigo Sanjuan has claimed their first win in the WRC2 class at Vodafone Rally de Portugal, with only a 3.2 second margin over 2nd placed Josh McErlean, who was driving a Skoda Fabia WRC2 car.

The DOT-sponsored rally car is being run by the PH.ph WRC team, who also features the DOT’s campaign heavily in the team’s service park. It was first worn by the team in February’s Rally Sweden and will continue to be showcased throughout the rest of PH.ph’s WRC2 campaign.

Solans’ victory is also the first for the new Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car that was launched earlier this year.
