Toyota GR Super Sport Concept teased ahead of Tokyo Auto Salon
Toyota Gazoo Racing to display all-new concept, 24 Hours of Nurburgring fighters at 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon

The 2017 Tokyo Motor Show saw Toyota debut the GR HV concept. It takes inspiration from Le Mans racing while also incorporating a sporty droptop design. Not only that, it also came with a unique transmission that can function either as an automatic or manual gearbox.
For the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon next year, Toyota will be showing another Gazoo Racing (GR) concept only this time it looks like a proper race car.
Based on the teaser image provided, the GR Super Sport Concept appears to be a re-imagination of their LMP1 hybrid race car, the TS050. Details are scarce at the moment but Toyota did mention it has 'its origins in World Endurance Championship (WEC)'. As for the concept itself, it appears it gets a prominent rear wing, low-slung front and rear bumpers, distinct alloy wheels and an aerodynamic greenhouse.

Aside from the GR Super Sport Concept, Toyota will also be displaying several cars that have competed in past motorsport activities, as well as those that have been developed as a result of these competitions. Under the theme 'Meister's Workshop', Toyota aims to promote the enjoyment of vehicle customization while at the same time, convey how cars of the future will be more exciting and high-tech.
Beyond that, Toyota will also be revealing the cars that will compete in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. The final driver lineup, on the other hand, will be announced on January 12.
The 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon will take place at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefrecture from January 12 to 14.
