This is McLaren's challenger for 2021 F1 season
Mclaren: Now powered by Mercedes-AMG

Mclaren Formula 1 just became the first team to reveal their car for the upcoming 2021 season.

Dubbed the MCL35M, it more or less resembles the MCL35 from the previous season. That’s because teams were forced to use modified versions of their 2020 chassis for the 2021 season. The sweeping regulation changes were supposed to be imposed this year but delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. As a result, the MCL35M carries over the same design philosophy featuring the now-iconic Papaya-and-blue color scheme, and much of the 2020 car's shape and form.

While at first glance, the car remains unchanged, the devil truly is in the details. Under the engine cover is a Mercedes-Benz power unit, replacing the Renault mill from the past seasons. Yes, to further their pursuit in reclaiming their former glory, the Mclaren team will now be powered by the championship-winning engine constructor.

The engine switch should be an upgrade for Mclaren as they look to capitalize on the success of last year that saw them garner multiple podium finishes and third place in the Constructors' Championship finish. It should also be interesting to see how the team will perform as they signed veteran Daniel Riccardo to bolster their driver roster, which they hope will give their team more chances to fight for the top spots on the podium.
Could we see Mclaren back on top this year? With that Mercedes-AMG power unit, they might snatch a few wins from Lewis Hamilton.
