Team factory of Red Bull F1 raided; trophies stolen

Over 60 trophies belonging to the Red Bull Racing Team were stolen by a group of thieves last December 5, 2014 at the team's factory located in Milton Keynes, UK.

The thieves, who are comprised of six men, used a car to drive through the front entrace and gain access inside the Red Bull Racing factory. Fortunately, the night staff on duty at the time were not harmed.

Red Bull Racing Team principal Christian Horner then released a statement the day after the robbery.

"We are obviously devastated by this serious factory break in, which saw offenders drive a vehicle through our front entrance and steal more than 60 trophies which took years and hard work to accumulate.The break-in caused significant damage and was very upsetting for our night officers who were on duty at the time. The offenders took items that not only did not belong to them, but which represented the efforts of a group of dedicated, hard-working individuals," said Horner.

Horner added that even though the trophies are vauled by the staff and racing team, their intrinsic value is low as most of the stolen trophies are replicas. Ulitimately, the incident may prompt the company to make their facility less accessible in the future, which according to Horner, will be unfair to the fans that visit the factory to see their trophies and F1 cars.

"We would like to appeal to anyone who knows any information on the whereabouts of these trophies or the offenders involved to contact Thames Valley Police," Horner ended.
