Team Clover Green conquered the hot Round 2 of the City Media Challenge on Saturday, June 15 at the CCP Complex in Manila.
Team Clover Green’s time of 3:16.78 was the best combined time of the day and earned them 30 championship points which brings their total to 48 points and puts them in 3rd place in the overall team standings. The team is composed of Brent Co (Autoindustriya.com), Bernard De Lara(Tempo), James Deakin (C! Magazine) and absentee member Miriam Quiambao (Extra! Extra!).
In second place, with a team time of 3:27.76 was Team Passion Orange, composed of Dodgie Aguila, Angelo Almonte (DZMM), Charo Logarta (ABS-CBN News) and Benj Ngo (Autoindustriya.com).Their win puts them in 6th place in the championship series.
Placing third and earning 24 points is Team Satin Silver’s 3:20.69. The team is composed of Kap Aguila (Philippine Star), Ferdie Baja (DZEC), Lester Dizon (Gadgets Magazine) and Jay Tatuc (I-Witness). Team Satin Silver is currently tied in First Place with Team Formula Red (Jons Crisostomo – Dragracingpinoy.com, Iris Cruz – GMA 7 News, Lito German (Mla. Standard and Raul Virtudazo – DZBB) with a total of 51 championship points.
Aside from the humidity, competition was stiff and the best times of the day kept getting better. The well deserved best-time-of-the-day award was eventually given to James Deakin (Team Clover Green representing C! Magazine) for clocking a 1 minute three point fourty-two second lap in his second heat. Second and third best times were Emil Tiangco’s (Team Supersonic Blue – representing ABS-CBN) 1:03.62 and Dodgie Aguila’s (Team Passion Orange – representing Today) 1:03.83, respectively.
The City Media Challenge is presented by Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. The official fuel is Caltex Vortex, and the official engine oil is Caltex Havoline. Other sponsors include Michelin for the official tires, thru its distributor, Tiara Commercial and Industrial Corporation, Aitech for the stickers and Nodalo’s Trading for the car modifications. The event is organized by ADBM Resources in partnership with Activity Asia Association and Roadwise Motoring School.
