Tanner Foust reveals his new Volkswagen Formula Drift car
Foust plans to win this year's Formula Drift competition with his new Rockstar Volkswagen Passat

Two-time Formula Drift champion Tanner Foust has just revealed his new Rockstar Energy Drink / Nitto Tire Volkswagen Passat drift car which he will use in the opening of the 2015 Formula Drift Championship in Long Beach, California on April 10 – 11 , 2015.
Given that it has already been modified to compete in drift competitions, Foust stated that the car is somewhat unique in its construction as he explained that race events in the US allows teams and drivers to get creative with their car builds.

“One of the things I have always loved about drifting in the United States is how inventive you can get with the car builds. You can put a high-horsepower V-8 into a Volkswagen Passat to make something completely unique. You don't see that in another series in the word,” said Foust.
The exterior is covered in the signature black and yellow livery from Rockstar Energy Drink while the rear gets an APR Performance wing. It also has five-spoke KMC wheels that are wrapped in Nitto NT05 high-performance tires that measure 255/40/R17 at the front and 295/40/R18 at the back.

The inside has been stripped to the bare essentials and only consist of Recaro seats, a Sparco steering wheel, a roll-cage and a Plex SDM-500 digital instrument cluster.
Under the hood, the Passat is driven by a 7.4-liter V8 that produces 710 PS on stock fuel but when fed with Nitrous, it is capable of generating up to 912 PS. It is then mated to a G-Force GSR 4-speed dog box transmission that runs on a three-disc clutch courtesy of Tilton Engineering.

Other modifications installed on the Passat include: an aluminum driveshaft, an AEM Infinity-10 fuel injection system and custom coilvers from RS-R.
