After showing good speed and finishing in 4th place on June 21's second practice, Marlon Stockinger qualified sixth for the Renault 3.5L World Series sprint race at the Moscow Raceway.
During the race day, Stockinger managed to finish in 8th place overall and 3rd in the rookie class, scoring 4 points for his team, with team mate Marco Sorensen finishing in 10th place.
"Unfortunately I lost 2 places at the start because I had a lot of wheel spin. After that everybody kept their position for the whole race. The top 10 drivers were so evenly matched and consistent - all with lap times within one second from each other - that there was no opportunity to overtake or being overtaken. It looks kind of easy from the outside, but it is extremely difficult to keep your concentration for 40 minutes and not making a mistake, which could instantly cost you a position." states Stockinger.

A feature race will be happening on Monday include a compulsory pit stop and another qualifying session in the morning.
"I will have to push hard in tomorrow's qualifying" says Stockinger. "After struggling the first half of the season and after some unfortunate race incidents, I feel more and more comfortable with the World Series car, which is quite a step up from GP3 and extremely physical to drive."
