Someone is modding Clark International Speedway for Assetto Corsa
Race at Clark International Speedway from the comfort of your home

Racing games give us the opportunity to drive different cars across famous race tracks around the world. From the legendary Fuji Speedway in Japan to Laguna Seca in the US and even the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit, depending on the game you’re playing, you might have probably raced through these tracks
But when was the last time you saw a local Philippine race track featured in a big name video game like Gran Turismo or Forza? Soon, you can.
Thanks to the work of a local video game modder, Fran-Fran Arroyo, the Clark International Speedway could be making its debut, and its digital recreation is being made fully compatible with Assetto Corsa.
From the lone photo, it looks to be a very accurate representation of one of the country’s most popular race track. Aside from the overall layout and even elevation changes, Arroyo even went into great detail in putting up the sand traps at their proper location. In fact, you can even see the provision for the CIS “short track” layout.
So to all our local racer friends, if you want to get some practice at CIS before the next track day (which might be a while), better download Assetto Corsa on your PCs and gaming consoles. At least you can continue to hone your driving skills on a local track even when you’re stuck at home during ECQ.
Maybe in the future we can try out a digital recreation of other racetracks like the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) or perhaps even the now-defunct but very unforgiving Subic International Raceway (SIR).
