Sebastian Vettel tries out newly-built Sochi Grand Prix Circuit
Sebastian Vettel recently tested the newly-built Sochi Autodrom in Krasnodar Kai, Russia, becoming the first F1 driver to drive on it.

Four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel recently tested the newly-built Sochi Autodrom in Krasnodar Kai, Russia, becoming the first F1 driver to test the track. He was joined by former F1 driver David Coulthard, who drove media guests and VIPs around the track.
Vettel visited the track back in April 2013 when it was still being constructed. The Sochi Autodrom is set to host the Russian Grand Prix on October 12, 2014. It is 5.8-kilometers long and features 18 corners. The track was designed by renowned F1 circuit designer Herman Tilke, who also designed the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore and the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
“It is great to be back in Sochi and the venue has been transformed since I was last here when it was really just a construction site. Having driven the full circuit for the first time in the Infiniti Q50 today, it’s an interesting layout with a good mix of high speed corners and technical sections. It’s going to be a huge challenge in a Formula One car for sure and I’m really looking forward to coming back in October,” said Vettel.
