Sebastian Vettel debuts as Ferrari driver in Fiorano

After signing with Scuderia Ferrari F1 last month, Sebastian Vettel recently debuted as a driver by testing the F2012 car at the Fiorano race track in Italy.
The four time Formula One champion completed around one hundred laps on the damp Fiorano track. After a few cautious runs, Ferrari said Vettel began to push the F2012 car. Aside from the actual test run, Vettel was acquainted with Ferrari's past F1 cars and spent some time in the simulator.
Moreover, Vettel met with senior Ferrari personalities including chairman Sergio Marchionne, new team principal Maurizio Arrivabene and technical chief James Allison.

When his move to Ferrari was officially announced, Vettel said that it was a dream come true and he's motivated to help the team to get back on top. Vettel also expressed that his move to Ferrari was a fairytale story and added that it was special to follow the footsteps of Michael Schumacher. Vettel and Schumacher have previously teamed up in the Race of Champions representing Germany.
"There are a lot of fairytales about Ferrari and how it feels to drive a red car. It's not just a story; it's a true legend that exists. And it feels really, really special to become part of that and to be inside the car,” Vettel said.
Vettel's first race with Ferrari will be in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2015.
