Robert Kubica test with Williams F1 team successful
Robert Kubica successfully completes tests with Williams F1 team to assess possible F1 return

Earlier this year, Robert Kubica did some tests with the Renault Formula 1 team in a bid to return to Formula 1. He also believed in an 80 to 90 percent return to the open-wheel racing series. However after his first few tests, no new details have surfaced regarding the outcome. Now, the Pole has seems to have began testing with Williams F1 team, and has just competed his first test with the team.
To give a brief background on Kubica, the Polish driver has not competed in a Formula 1 race since his rally accident in 2011, which left him with major injuries to his right arm. Prior to his Formula 1 departure, Kubica won the 2008 Candian Grand Prix for BMW Sauber. After the accident, he then focused on rallying from 2013 to 2015 until he decided to pursue a possible return to circuit racing.
A likely reason behind Kubica's attention change from Renault to Williams is because Carlos Sainz has been already been signed to Renault for next year. However, Felipe Massa's seat is still open as Massa has not yet been confirmed for the following season. The team also confirmed to set tests with Kubica and Paul di Resta as possible choices for the next season.
Kubica drove a 2014 FW36 car during his one day test at Silverstone and was said to have been 'successful'. More testing is scheduled for both Kubica and Di Resta at the Hungaroring, but Williams has not said when.
