Ribbon Arc shines in rain-hit 2023 Kalayaan 12-HR endurance race
Ribbon Arc Motorsports takes 6 and 12-hour Prototype class victory in 2023 Kalayaan endurance race

Non-stop rain brought very difficult track conditions in Clark International Speedway, but there was no stopping Ribbon Arc Motorsports and its lineup of international race car drivers from conquering the Prototype class of the 2023 Kalayaan Cup 12-hour endurance race.

Using the #525 Ribbon Arc Motorsports Formula V1 race car, drivers Chris Gleeson, Thomas Day, Daniel Sedlak, Scott Whitehead, and Kazuki Takemura took class victory in both 6 hours and 12 hours of the 2023 Kalayaan Cup Endurance race, completing 229 laps of the Clark International Speedway.

Despite an early incident that set them back from taking overall victory, Ribbon Arc Motorsports recovered from last place in the first hour and moved up to the leaderboard as the race progressed.

At the end of the 12-hour race, Ribbon Arc Motorsports has set the record for being the first-ever team to conquer the longest race in the country using a single-seater prototype race car. The Formula V1 prototype ran reliably all throughout the practice sessions and the main race itself, completing almost 52 hours of flat-out track time. Prior to the 12-hour race, only an oil and tire change was done by Ribbon Arc mechanics; a testament to the Formula V1's durability and potential as an endurance race car.

This is also the team's second successful Kalayaan 12-hour endurance race in as many attempts. Ribbon Arc was formed as a team of individuals that started from sim racing, and transitioned to real-life motorsports. Using a pair of Toyota Corolla AE92s in 2021, the grueling event gave them the Team Award for completing the most laps around Clark International Speedway.

“We are very proud of what our team achieved in this year's Kalayaan 12-hour endurance race. Despite the rain making life very difficult for our drivers, they managed to pull through and reach the finish line. The Formula V1 race car is a potent weapon for an endurance race, as we proved the car managed to last the whole distance without having any problems at all. Our sincerest gratitude also goes out to our sponsors, as this won't be possible without their support. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts”, said Quattro Adriano, Team Principal and Owner of Ribbon Arc Motorsports.
Ribbon Arc Motorsports is supported by the EMS Group, NuCom Digital, Unioil FuelKing Group, West Coast Biofuel, Top1 Philippines, Atlas Endurance, Bendix, Tuason Racing, Pinky Parts Ph, Ever Since Street Club, East Side Collective, Sim Racing Pilipinas, and Productivv Crew.
