Report: Jenson Button splits with wife Jessica Michibata
Formula 1 driver Jenson Button and wife Jessica Michibata split up after one year of marriage
McLaren-Honda Formula One driver Jenson Button has reportedly split with his Argentine-Japanese model wife Jessica Michibata after about a year of marriage.
According to Motorsport.com, Button's representatives have confirmed the split by saying, “Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no one else involved.”
Button and Michibata tied the knot in Hawaii in December 2014.
As a review, Button and his wife made headlines when they became victims of a robbery in France last August. The mansion they were staying in Saint Tropez, France was supposedly gassed with anaesthetic, according to local police, which made the couple and their friends lose consciousness.
He was on the crossroads on whether to hang up his driving gloves or not sometime this season as well.
Button also had a tough 2015 F1 season with the McLaren-Honda team. Througout the championship series, the 2009 F1 champ only managed to score 16 points.
