Philippine Formula Autosport Foundation launches the Asian V8 Championship
New series will feature Late Model NASCAR machines, spearheaded by Enzo Pastor

It seems that 2014 is going to be a big year for Philippine motorsports.
The Philippine Formula Autosport Foundation, Inc. (PFAFI) has just formally launched the 2014 Asian V8 Championship, a local racing series that will feature V8-powered Late Model NASCAR race cars.
At the leadership of Tom Pastor, PFAFI founder, the Asian V8 Championship seeks to revive and grow Philippine motorsports by aiming to develop the country as a premiere hub of auto racing in the region. The grand launch of the Asian V8 Championship will take place on February 27 at Resorts World Manila.
Enzo Pastor, renowned racecar driver and after having finished in the Magic 6 in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series last year, will be leading the charge for the Asian V8 Championship. The series will be held at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) and the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) over the course of the year.
After the launch on February 27, the Asian V8 Championship will kick off testing on March 1 with VIPs and celebrities at BRC. Following the testing will be the first of three weekend motorsport festivals at CIS on April 5 and 6, 2014. The festivities include car shows, car club EBs, DJ performances and support events by Circuit Showdown.
Prizes for the champions of the Asian V8 Championship will include race seats in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in Europe and the K&N Pro NASCAR Series in the USA.
The Asian V8 Championships will be held by PFAFI in partnership with the Department of Tourism and Resorts World Manila.
