Non-Stop Action Across Macau During 52nd Macau GP

In addition to its glittering trio of top-notch international headline events, the Macau Grand Prix remains true to its tradition of staging four-days of varied and diverse motorsport events in a programme which truly does including something for everyone. For the 52nd Macau Grand Prix, the schedule lists a total of nine races, including six supporting events: The Macao 2007 - 2nd Asian Indoor Games Cup, the Hotel Fortuna Trophy, the CTM Cup, Porsche Infineon Carrera Cup Asia, and the HONGHE Asian Formula Renault Challenge, and the 3rd Macau Grand Prix Committee Scooters Cup Race.

But as usual for the vibrant City of Macau during Grand Prix week, the action and excitement won't just be confined to the Guia Circuit, with a wealth of sights, sounds and experiences on offer.

On the Wednesday prior to the start of the Grand Prix, a special event has once again been organised for visitors and residents alike to see the competitors from the headline races engaging in an unusual activity.

To highlight the inclusion of Macau in the UNESCO World Heritage List this year, competitors will gather in one of the sites itself - Senado Square - where their puzzle-solving skills will be put to the test. Six teams of drivers and riders will be challenged to complete three jigsaws each of local UNESCO Heritage sites against the clock. The three sites are Senado Square, the Ruins of St. Paul's and the A-Ma Temple.

The contest will be followed by an autograph signing session, and racing fans will also have the opportunity to take photographs with some of the most famous drivers and riders in the world!

Over at the Macau Tower, a display of supercars worth millions of dollars will be held in the Tower Outdoor Plaza from November 14th to 19th. The splendid collection of rare automotive excellence includes a Ferrari Enzo, a Maserati MC12, a Pagani Zonda C12S and a Porsche GT1. An information counter will be operational from 9am to 9pm daily.

The 5th Macau Food Festival, organised by the Association of Macau Restaurant Merchants and held at the Sai Van Lake Square, runs from November 11 to 27 and is open from 5pm to 11pm on weekdays, and 3pm to midnight at weekends. A free shuttle bus from the old Workers Stadium Football Field is available to take visitors to and from the venue.

A vast array of culinary treats is on offer once again, with the finest examples of Macau's unique dishes, as well as cuisine from across China including Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, Mongolia, Hainan, Zhejiang and Hong Kong. Guests may also sample dishes from further afield such as Thailand, Malaysia and Portugal.

As well as being a gourmet's dream, the 5th Macau Food Festival will also feature lucky draws, games, cultural performances, bumper cars and even a freak show!

A series of spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky around Macau during November, with shows on November 12th and 16th (both at 9pm), and as a Grand Finale to the Macau Grand Prix week following the prize giving at the Macau Tower on November 20th. The prize giving ceremony - featuring the champions of the 52nd Macau Grand Prix - will also be shown live on the Tower's massive TV screen. In addition, the winning car of the FIA WTCC LG-Guia Race of Macau - Presented by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A., will be on display at the Tower that evening.
