Nissan revs up for 2019 motorsport season
Nissan's 2019 motorsport season will be a busy one as they join Formula E

For 2019, Nissan will not only be busy selling cars around the world, they'll be just as hard at work ripping up the world's race tracks. This year, Nissan will be the first Japanese automaker to join the Formula E series, and they will also be running in the Super GT GT500 class, Intercontinental GT Challenge, 24 Hours of Nurburgring, Super GT GT300 class, and Super Taikyu Series in Japan, just to name a few.

Nissan is going all out in their first Formula E outing. Nissan also has some serious talent behind thw wheel of their open wheel electric race cars too. Piloting the cars are Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland.
Buemi serves as the senior driver of the team and he has the credentials to back it up. He was crowned Formula E champion during the 2015-2016 season, and also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice. Rowland on the other hand is Nissan's junior driver for the series, having clinched the title for Formula Renault UK and the Formula Renault 3.5 Series.
Nissan is also dipping their toes in E-games. Their virtual pilot will be Jann Mardenborough, winner of the 2011 Nissan GT Academy.

As for Super GT, Nismo will be officially fielding four teams. These are Nismo themselves, NDDP Racing with B-Max, the long-running Team Impul, and Kondo Racing. There will be a total of eight drivers for Nissan, which includes Mardenborough racing for Kondo Racing as a rookie.
Privateer team KCMG on the other hand will be running the Intercontinental GT Challenge and the 24 Hours of Nurburgring this year, while Kondo Racing will swing by Germany to run the Nurburgring endurance race.

Last but not least is their feeder series known as the Micra Cup. Held in Canada, it is similar in concept to the Vios Cup where they gather the country's amateur and professional drivers to compete in the single-make series. Now in its fifth year, it will consist of six events and 12 races.
