Nissan reveals heritage livery for GT-R LM Nismo
The Japanese automaker pays tribute to Mark Blundell and the Nissan R90CK with its heritage livery for the 2015 Le Mans.

Nissan has just unveiled their retro racing livery for their #21 GT-R LM Nismo race car that will compete in this year's 24 Hours at Le Mans. The old school look was designed in such a way to pay tribute to the company's R90CK that was driven by Mark Blundell in the 1990 Le Mans. He was able to achieve first place victory in Group C with a lap time of 3:27.020.
The original red exterior has been replaced with a trio of colors that consist of blue, red and white hues that closely resembles the original R90CK race car. Blundell was quite pleased that Nissan decided to honor the classic race car by applying its original colors to the modern GT-R LM Nismo.

“That lap of Le Mans is certainly a very fond memory for me. It was one of those moments where time stood still and everything went perfectly. You remember those moments, as they don't happen all that often. It's great to see Nissan celebrating that time with the retro livery on the #21 Nissan GT-R LM NISMO. I can't wait to see it on track at Le Mans,” said Blundell.
In addition, the genuine #24 Nissan R90CK will also be making an appearance at Le Mans during a special parade that will mark the anniversary of Nissan's pole lap victory 25 years ago.

“The blue liveries of the Group C and IMSA era of the 80s and 90s are a firm favorite with the fans. So much so that when we first started talking about the possibility of a third car livery specifically for our LM P1 debut at Le Mans this year, this was the one that fans across our social media channels called for. It's a great way to celebrate our past achievements at such a key moment in our current motor racing history,” said Darren Cox, Global Head of Brand, Marketing and Sales, Nismo.
The #21 GT-R LM Nismo car will be driven by current Super GT Champion Tsugio Matsuda and two GT Academy winners; Lucas Ordonez of Spain and Mark Shulzhitskiy of Russia.
The upcoming 24 Hours at Le Mans will take place from June 13 – 14, 2015
